Baking Class

Christmas is coming!  

What: One of our volunteer staff will be holding baking classes on Dec. 2nd and 4th.  

Time: 10:00 - 12:00.  

Cost: 800 yen (ingredients included).

Other: Children are welcome, but baby sitting will not be available. 

Other: No more than 8 adults will be permitted to sign up for each class.

Yuu and Ayaka - Thanks

Ayaka & Yuu are Hokusei University students who have been volunteering at the cafe for the past several months on Saturday.  This Saturday, the 29th will be their last day to volunteer.  They spending their extra time to put a greater emphasis on their studies.  Smart move! 

They  have added their cheerful smiles, and will likely still come around.  We will mis their help. 

Saturday volunteers are needed.  If you are interested in an opportunity to work with native speakers in a friendly atmosphere, please let us know.

Eby to arrive January 9th

Eby, who visited us back in March of this year, is scheduled to come for three months.  

She will be arriving from Wisconsin January 9th.  

Especially since Justin & Rachel returned to the US in August, she will received a very warm welcome.   Some of you became friends with her.  For those who didn't, you will also have a chance. 

Eby loves Japan, people, horses and loves Cafe Co-En.    She has lived in Japan, so also speaks Japanese.   You will be glad she is part of the staff.

原田・ミドー (Mido Harada) is having an art exhibition at the cafe Nov. 11 - Dec. 13 (with the possibility of extending).  Mido is a local artist who recently led a mosaic project in a tunnel along the cycling road running beside the building the cafe is located in.  This project has received much community support and a national culture award.   The the theme of the exhibition will be "The Sleeping Snowman."

Available for sale: Mido san's book, Mother (1000yen); Several, Resting Snowman dolls to choose from (1000yen); Prints, 20 Resting Snowmen to choose from (3500yen); Mobile Phone straps (350yen); Postcards (200yen). 

The cafe is available to be used by artists, photographers, and others with items they would like to display.  Let me know if you have something you would like to display.

 

Poroco magazine

Poroco, a popular magazine especially for young women, included Cafe Co-En in the November magazine, featuring cafes in Hokkaido. The half page includes pictures and general information about the cafe.

Other cafes do a better job of presenting their meals, sweets and drinks. Cafe Co-En's strong point is its friendly, connection inviting atmosphere.

About our coffee:
We roast our own House Blend to guarantee fresh coffee taste.
Every cup is then made fresh, one cup at a time.
We also serve Cappuccino, Espresso, Mocha, spiced and flavored coffees.

Other drinks:
Tea, Cocoa, Apple Cider, and Chi are other hot drinks we serve.

Juices:
We serve 100% fruit juices. Our Hidamari Drink one of our most frequently ordered cold drinks is a buitiful and delicious mix of Mango & Cranberry - Grape
